Why can't I withdraw money?

We show you how much money you can withdraw. You can see the amount by pressing on the Withdraw button on the Balance page as shown below ⬇️
If that number is zero, it can be due to a few different reasons.
So let's figure out why! πŸ•΅οΈ‍♂️

Potential reasons why you have 0 kr. to withdraw

1) You have not completed any shifts in this payroll period πŸ™ˆ

2) You have withdrawn up to your limit πŸ’Έ

3) Your company has just done a salary run πŸ’°

4) You do not have a bank account connected πŸ’³

1) You have not earned anything this period πŸ™ˆ

With each completed shift, you earn money which is then shown in Butter. You can see in the app under 'Shifts' how many shifts you already completed (and if they were approved by your restaurant manager yet).

Remember that the payroll period is rarely the same as a calendar month - the exact dates of your payroll period are also shown on 'Balance' or 'Shifts'.
πŸ—“ A usual payroll period will be for example 20th August to 19th September - any shifts you have taken in this period will be paid out on the 1st October.

Once the payroll period closes, your company will have sent that salary through to be paid out on the first and therefore you will not be able to withdraw money from this period (as you would then get paid the money twice).

As soon as you take the next shift, you should be able to withdraw again. πŸŽ‰

2) You have withdrawn up to your limit πŸ’Έ

You can withdraw up to 50% of what you already earned, but never more than your worry-free money. This is to ensure you have enough money for bills at the start of the month.

If you're unsure about how much is frozen, you can go to 'Bills & Goals' and check it in there. It might be one of the cases below.

There is two ways how your money can be frozen:

1️⃣ Create bills & goals and freeze them (when your bills are lower than 50%, half of your salary will be frozen)

2️⃣ You did not set up or freeze your bills and goals.

Read about the explanation below.

1️⃣ You set up your bills & goals

If you set up your bills and goals and froze them on the 'Bills & Goals' page in Butter, you can withdraw half of what you've earned, but never more than what you are saving for your bills and goals.

2️⃣ You did not set up your bills & goals

If you did not add any bills on the 'Bills & Goals' page or did not mark them as frozen, half of your earnings will be frozen while you can withdraw the rest. So 50% of your earned salary can be withdrawn.

3) Your company has just done a salary run πŸ’°

When your company runs salary they report your salary and send the money to be distributed to your account - thus it is not possible to withdraw from this payroll.

So if your payroll period is for example 16th - 15th, once you reach the 16th you go into a new salary period and can start withdrawing from that.

4) We don't have your bank account information πŸ’³

🏦Check that you have a bank account registered to your account under 'settings' then click 'your profile' if your bank account is not correct there, then please edit your information and click save.
